24-25 March 2025 | Bologna (Italy)
Last week, on March 24–25, 2026, the city of Bologna hosted the General Assembly Meeting of HaloFreeEtch after 18 months since the beginning of the project. The meeting, organized by Tinexta Innovation Hub and held at the Starhotel Excelsior, marked a significant 18-month milestone for this ambitious research initiative.
During the two-day event in Bologna, consortium partners discussed the progress achieved across various activities:
- Identification of novel, halogen-free etching approaches.
- Multi-scale modeling of processes through advanced computational methods.
- Early development and validation of eco-compatible etching processes.
- Sustainability assessment and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of the new technologies.
- Strategies for dissemination, communication, exploitation, portfolio activities, and overall project management.
With the conclusion of this meeting, HaloFreeEtch continues its journey toward establishing cleaner, high-performance industrial standards for the microelectronics and precision glass manufacturing sectors.
